Common symptoms

Chest discomfort that feels like pressure, squeezing or fullness is the most common sign. It may spread to the arm, jaw, neck or back. Breathlessness, cold sweat, nausea and light headedness can appear with or without chest pain.

Symptoms can look different

Women, older adults and people with diabetes more often experience unusual tiredness, indigestion like discomfort or shortness of breath rather than classic chest pain.

What to do

Call 112 immediately. Do not drive yourself to hospital. Sit down, stay calm and unlock the door so help can reach you. Every minute matters for the heart muscle.
