Offer specific help

Instead of saying "let me know if you need anything", offer something concrete, such as driving to appointments, cooking a meal or sitting with them during treatment.

Listen more than you advise

People often need space to share fears without being corrected. Let them lead conversations about their illness.

Care for yourself too

Caregiving is demanding. Rest, accept help from others and consider joining a support community where you can talk openly.
